Final Tiles Grid Gallery is a flexible WordPress portfolio plugin that can be used to create professional portfolios and galleries and minutes.
In my last tutorial, I showed you how how to create a new gallery with the plugin. In this tutorial, I would like to show you how to configure your new gallery after completing the new gallery wizard.
How to Configure Your Final Tiles Grid Gallery
In the last step of the gallery wizard you are presented with your gallery shortcode. In this box is a link to customize your gallery. Clicking on the link will take you to the gallery configuration page.
Alternatively, you can configure your gallery by viewing the main list of galleries and selecting the “Edit Gallery” option (the one that looks like a pencil).
The edit gallery page is divided into eight colorful categories: General, links and lightbox, captions, hover effects, image loaded effects, style, customisations, and images.
At the top of the page is the shortcode for your gallery and links to plugin documentation and a video tutorial.
Clicking on a category header brings down a long list of options for that category.
At the bottom right of the page is a save icon and an arrow icon. Clicking on the arrow icon will bring up shortcode links to each category. Both of these icons hover at the bottom of the page at all times.
Dozens of options are available throughout the eight main categories. In the general category you can adjust the width of galleries and the size factor of phones and tablets in landscape and portrait modes.
You can also modify settings such as filters, scroll effects, and HTML compression.
Six lightbox modes are available for selection: Magnific popup, ColorBox, PrettyPhoto, FancyBox, SwipeBox, and LightBox. Social media sharing icons can be placed on images too. Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and Pinterest, are supported.
The captions category lets you modify settings such as height, the icon, font, colors, opacity, and more.
The hover effects category lets you choose the zoom, rotation, and rotation icon. While the Image Loaded Effects category lets you adjust the scale, rotation, and horizontal and vertical slide sizes.
Borders, colors, and shadows, can be modified in the style category. Further styling can be applied in the customizations category using the custom CSS box. This area also lets you add text before and after your gallery. There is a box for inserting custom scripts too.
The last category is images. From here you can adjust your gallery thumbnail size and add images and videos to your gallery.
Underneath you will find a selection of bulk action buttons for managing the media you have inserted into your gallery. You can select all, deselect all, toggle selection, assign filters, and remove media.
When you first view the edit gallery page in Final Tiles Grid Gallery, you will be surprised by the number of options that are available. However, it is unlikely that you will need to modify every single setting.
I have found that whenever I create a new gallery, I am happy with most of the default settings and only modify a few things such as colors. Settings can be tweaked at any time so if there is anything you want to change about your gallery styling or gallery functionality, you can go back and change it at any time.
